HBA also provide specialist consultancy skills. In this capacity HBA have carried out architectural surveys, feasibility studies, measured surveys, historical research, advice on Planning and Listed Building legislation and carried out specialist conservation projects.

For a number of years Rhys Brookes has lectured on timber decay for The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings and provides consultancy services to various timber framing companies around the country. HBA is an associated practice with Roderick James Architects.
