FAULSTONE PIGEON HOUSE

Faulstone Pigeon House a round flint and limestone tower thought to be the remaining part of a fortified moat around Faulstone House dating from the 15 th century which was adapted to a pigeon house with the addition of nesting boxes internally. HBA were commissioned by English Heritage to carry out an investigative survey of the building which is a scheduled ancient monument and was on the 'buildings at risk' register. HBA were subsequently employed by the owner to carry out the repairs with grant aid from English Heritage and Salisbury District Council. The Project received 'Commendation' from Salisbury Civic Society Conservation Awards Scheme 2002.
