BARTON HOUSE, BRADFORD-ON-AVON
This garden studio provides a workspace, garden store and overspill accommodation for a Grade 1 listed house on the site of a Scheduled Ancient monument. Obtaining consents was a considerable challenge due to local opposition despite the scheme being support by the planning authority and English Heritage. The building has an oak frame and oak cladding and is supported on micro-piles with bottle screw jacks to minimize disturbance to below ground archeology. It has a low lying green sedum curved roof to blend into its garden setting with minium impact on its sensitive location.
