RIBA and AABC accredited for specialist conservation work, we have carried out over 200 projects on Listed Buildings and Scheduled Ancient Monuments.
We offered retrofit and sustainable design, including Passivhaus solutions for both new and traditionally constructed buildings.

Harrison Brookes Architects won a competitive tender for a series of projects to rejuvenate Royal Victoria Park. Although a small practice without the portfolios of others, they were selected because they were attuned to B&NES's aspirations and needs, as well as the technical and philosophical conservation challenges this work posed. The results are spectacular, and long-lost features of this important Grade I Park have been re-created for all to enjoy. Working with Harrison Brookes was a joy from the outset.
We are exceptionally pleased with the results of Rebecca’s work in bringing our ancient house into the modern world without loss of character or historic fabric. This view has been shared by Mendip District Council and Somerset Building Preservation Trust, who have both given awards for the work done at Court Farm.

Do I need an architect for my project?
An architect can help you assess the potential of your project, develop a considered design, navigate planning requirements and, where required, oversee the construction process. We can advise you on the level of architectural service that would be appropriate for your project.
Do you work with listed and historic buildings?
Yes. Conservation and the sensitive adaptation of historic buildings are a particular area of expertise for Harrison Brookes. We have extensive experience working with listed buildings and historic structures, including projects requiring Listed Building Consent
Can you help improve the energy efficiency of an older building?
Yes. We can advise on retrofit and sustainability measures while taking into account the character, construction and historic significance of an existing building.
Do you work on extensions and conversions?
Yes. We have experience designing adaptations, extensions and conversions for a wide range of existing buildings, including historic properties
Do you only work on residential projects?
No. Our work spans residential, commercial, community and historic buildings, as well as projects for private individuals, trusts and public bodies.
How early should I speak to an architect?
Ideally, as early as possible. Early architectural advice can help establish what is achievable, identify planning or heritage constraints and give you a clearer understanding of the likely scope and costs before you proceed.
