Works to historic buildings are predominantly dictated by the nature and character of the building and to be successful it is essential that we analyse in detail the history and fabric of the building in the same way as a good doctor will look at both the body and history of a patient. Only by really knowing the building are we best placed to make informed decisions. Whilst most owners understand this, occasionally a client will come along that really understands the subtleties of getting things right. In this instance we were lucky enough to work for Drew Pritchard the celebrated antiques dealer who not only understood that quality lasts and needs to be carefully nurtured, but also when less is more. Over the course of several years, we have worked closely to return 5 flats in a Georgian house back to a single dwelling. The initial part of journey was recorded as a documentary series for the Discovery Channel. Works were extensive and included a complete overhaul of the external and internal spaces.
